So downgrading a gpu to make something run better is nonsense. A GTX970 with an 8 year old cpu (1200 single thread score) runs smoother than slower cards and produces artist quality images. I have tried several different video cards in the same rig, with and without ENB. THe n-n-n-n numbers on the memory are the important figures I believe. There are videos are utube that demonstrate this.ĭitto with memory. There is at most 5% difference between versions 1, 2 and 3. Most current Intel cpu's score in 2200's, some in the 2500's.ħ5% of tesv.exe processing occurs in one thread, so a faster single thread benchmark is better with Skyrim. In 2010, there were i7's with single thread benchmark scores in the 1900's. Might want to check it out if its still around.Īlkpaz, your cpu is a good general purpose cpu but a good gaming cpu is one with a high single-thread performance. I think i remember something called BOSS when i modded skyrim. I'm gonna see about removing everything and just starting over. I suspect it might be a few things conflicting with SMIM and the esps.

I sort of just scoured the Nexus for as many 4K textures that could pair well with STEP, thinking that Mod Organizer would just overwrite any conflicts, but I guess this isn't the case. I removed the ENB and I'm still getting huge drops while my usage is low. I think it might be conflicting textures or something though. Also Windows 10.ĬPU usage isn't even reaching half percent. I7-4790K, 16 GB DDR3 and its on an SSD (Samsung 850). You never said what the rest of your specs are, or your operating system.

But the amount of 2K and 4K mods can limit fps. I fixed the ENB local settings and I assumed they were correct: For the most part I've been following STEP. I don't think its a texture conflict either. I have a TON of 2K and 4K texture mods in Mod Organizer, but I don't see how they are impacting anything when the VRAM isn't even reaching half usage, which is why I'm blaming the ENB. In MSI Afterburner the usage is about 80-90% depending on where I am and the VRAM memory usage tends to be somewhere around 2700MB (so not even half of my VRAM).Īround Riverwood FPS keeps dropping from 60 to 45. I have a GTX 980 Ti which has 6GB of VRAM. To use all of my GPU's VRAM (or even half). I can't seem to get a Skyrim ENB (True Vision )
